PayTrace Setup

All Pay Trace accounts are initially set up as Web Users.  In order to connect your PayTrace gateway to our auction software, you'll need to create an API account to become an API user rather than a Web user.

Login to the PayTrace website with the username and password created when you set up your initial PayTrace (web) account.  

To create a user profile:

1.  Click on the API User button to change your profile from a Web user to an API user.

2.  Select a username (this becomes your API login)

3.  Select and confirm a password (must be at least 7 characters and contain both numbers and letters).  This becomes your API Password.

4.  Enter contact info for the account.

5.  Enter a ceiling amount for transactions (this will be the maximum amount you will be allowed to process in a single transaction.)

6.  Check these five boxes.

7.  Save Changes.

Log in to your event site (this step requires Chair Role):

Go to:  Admin > Site Settings > Payment / Credit Card > Setup Gateway (menu tab only visible when logged in with Chair role)

1. Choose Pay Trace from the dropdown.

2. Choose what types of Credit Cards would be accepted.

3. Enter Username created  in previous step.

4. Enter Password created in previous step.

5. Save.

Go to Admin > Site Settings > Payment / Credit Card > Credit Card General:

1. This descriptor will appear on the receipts generated by the software as the source of the transactions.  Ideally, it should match what will appear on your guests' credit card statements (this is dictated by your merchant account).

2. This box must be checked to allow vaulting or storing cards in your gateway for later access.  If unchecked, the check-in screen will not display the form for vaulting credit cards.

3. SAVE

Be sure to test with a live online transaction (with vaulting or without vaulting)
