Programming MagTek Card Readers - USE ONLY IF EXACT MODELS ARE ALREADY OWNED
Card Readers (swipers) rented or purchased from tofinoauctions.com or schoolauction.net are already programmed and are ready to plug into any USB port for immediate use.

Before purchasing any card readers, make certain that they are PROGRAMMABLE. The base part numbers may match, the appearance may be the same, and the price may be similar BUT if the card readers are preconfigured for a specific gateway, they cannot be reprogrammed.
1. Download and install the application from Magtek to your computer. Note: The setup program from Magtek requires Windows OS. The card readers will work on PCs or MACS, but must be configured on Windows OS.
2. Download the Magtek Tofino configuration file.

Save Option 1 or 2 Downloads as a .txt file in a place you can access for 6) below. if your browser opens it as a web page, copy the entire page contents and paste in into a .txt file in the most basic word processing software on your desktop.
3) Plug the card reader into your computer.

8. Unplug the card reader, then plug it back in and test:
Go to Auction Night > Check-In > Sell A Ticket
1. Select ticket from menu
2. Swipe a credit card using the newly programmed reader.
3. Vault appears as Pending until Continue is clicked.
Another test method:
Be sure to unplug card reader, then plug it back in before testing:
While your cursor is in Notepad or a simple text software and the swiper is plugged in, swipe a card.
