Note: This article focuses on elements unique to Sellable items. For info on how each field/component on the Item detail form is used, see Entering an Item for Silent Bidding.Note:
To add an item that will be sold to many buyers for a fixed price:
Go to: Catalog > Add Item
1. Type = Sellable generates a fixed price field and a field for a user defined FMV.
2. Note that Type = Sellable is the only type which can be sold via the Point of Sale (POS) feature.
3. Enter the fixed price.
4. Sellable items typically have quantity > 1. Note: If you print Sellable Item sheets for tracking sales, be aware that the form will have numbered line items equal to the quantity. In this example, if you didn't want a tracking sheet with 500 lines, you could edit the quantity to 25, print the tracking sheet (and xerox as desired), then edit back to the original quantity.
5. Uncheck the "Display Item in Public Catalog" when appropriate.
6. Add other options for selling the item, if desired.
7. Save your work.
Additional step for selling item in online auction:
1. Check the "For Sale at: Online Auction" box. Venue options are dictated by item type and items can be sold at any or all venue options displayed for the type.
2. Specify when you want BIDDING for this item to open and close.
You can set default open and closing times for BIDDING and specify an opening and closing time for VIEWING at Admin > Site Settings > Online Auction > General.
You can also edit the opening and closing times of multiple items at once using the Bulk Edit feature on the Catalog page.
