Setting up Authorize.net for Vaulting Credit Cards

In order to vault credit cards using an Authorize.net gateway, you must enable the Customer Information Manager (CIM) on the Authorize.net website.

Note:   Authorize.net has recently discontinued the $20 monthly fee for CIM on new accounts, so if you have a new Auth.net gateway, you should enable CIM now.

If you have an older Authorize.net account and have previously paid the fee, that fee structure still applies.

Log in to your Authorize.net account:

1.  Turn on CIM (Customer Information Manager)

2.  Recommended:  Verify your Gateway security settings:

  • Lower AVS (address verification service) in Auth.net for Event Night to avoid failures due to missing or mismatched billing addresses.
  • Turn off CVV Requirements (3 digit code designed for card not present transactions).

3.  Return to your event site to direct the software to connect to your gateway account.
