Troubleshooting: Items and Catalog Display

There are a myriad of settings and variables available to control the display of items in your catalog - this troubleshooting guide will help identify and correct your settings so your items display as desired.

Issue:  Items are not visible

  1. Is your Online Auction open for public viewing?
  2. Are some or all of the items hidden from view?    Use Advanced Search Filter > All Item Status > choose Items Hidden to Public and search.    Items that are hidden can be bulk edited to make them visible to the public.
  3. Items that are Type = Ad Sales or Gift are not available for sale anywhere, so do not display in catalog.
  4. Is the public access to your button bar locked to a view which doesn't include those items offered in another venue?
  5. Is it a Gala item with 0 qty?   Online Items will display a white banner (Closed - unsold, or Closed - Item won) but Gala items only display in public view if quantity > 0.

Issue:  Items are visible

  1. Are items available in more than one venue?  Items that are available in Gala and Online will appear in the catalog as a gala item even if the Online Auction is not open for public viewing.
  2. Is the default view on the button bar set for the desired venue?
  3. Online items that have already been sold continue to display to allow non-winners to confirm that it was won by another bidder and what the high bid was.  You can bulk edit desired items to hide them from the public catalog if you wish.
  4. Note:  Specifying a opening and closing time for bidding does not affect the visibility of the items.  Items that are not open for bidding will be visible unless you specify otherwise using the visibility settings.
