Changing the Order Items are Displayed in the Web Catalog
You can specify the default variable for displaying items within the grid and public view of the catalog. In addition, you can highlight specific items by specifying the display order on the items you want to display first (in the initial view and within searches).
To change the display order:
Go to: Admin > Site Settings > Catalog > Catalog Settings
- Default display order is most recently added items first.
- Item Categories can be added or edited.
- Display order is both a default choice and a tool for highlighting a few items even though another default sort order is selected (see below). If Display Order is chosen as the default sort order, items will appear in the order specified, and any items with an empty display order field will appear after those, in the order entered (most recent first).
To Highlight Items outside of the default sort order:
Using Display Order to Highlight Items:
- You can designate a display number on some, none, or all items, but each display order must be entered manually.
- To place item(s) between existing numbers, reuse the closest number. If items have the same display number, they will appear together and their order will be determined by the default sort chosen (Category A-Z etc).
- To highlight a few items, specify the display order on those individual items, and select the desired default sort for the remaining items. A specified display order will always take precedence over the default setting and over items with an empty display order field.
