Recording External Credit Card Payments

If you will be processing some, or all, of your credit card transactions outside of the software (via external terminal, Square, another website etc), you can record those payments within the software by enabling the "External" payment method.

Note:  to process credit cards externally for online transactions, use the Custom Payment option.

 

To enable external payment method for Gala Auction (Chair Role required):

Go to Admin > Site Settings > Gala Auction > General Settings (note:  only users Chair role can make changes to this page)

1.  Select the payment options you want to appear on the dropdown menu:  check external, uncheck credit card to reduce confusion.

2.  Select the default value to appear on the dropdown

3.  Save your changes.

Go to Auction Night > Check-out

To enable external payment method for Internal Ticket Sales:

To enable external payment method for Internal Ticket Sales:

Go to Admin > Site Settings > Ticket Sales > Customize Registration Forms

1.  Enable the external payment method first (see above).

2.  Check the box for Add External payment type for internal ticket sales.  This will add External to the dropdown menu for tickets entered via Ticket Page > Sell a Ticket only.

3.  Save your changes.

Go to Tickets > Sell a Ticket > Payment Screen.
