Configuring Email Messaging for All Online Transactions

Numerous actions/events within the software trigger specific auto-generated email messages.    Most features (ticket sales, online auction etc) have dedicated controls for the emails generated within that feature on its own site settings page.    There is also a Master location where all email configurations can be viewed and edited.  Edits made using either the Feature or Master setting control will automatically update the other.

Viewing all "From" addresses:

Go to Admin > Site Settings > Communications > Email "From" Addresses

1.  All auto-generated email messages use one of three specified "from" addresses, depending on the source of the transaction:

  • Online Auction
  • Donate Now Page (online donations/orders/sales/pledges)
  • General (all transactions other than from Online Auction or Donate Now page)

2.  The "friendly" name to appear as the Sender in the recipient's inbox (ie name or title rather than formatted email address).

3.  The email address to receive messages if the recipient "replies to" the original message.

4.  You can override the friendly "from" address and use the "reply to" address for both fields to make it appear as though the email is coming from the specified address, but doing so will increase the chance of  the message bouncing or being placed in your guests' spam folders.

5.  Save your work.
