Transferring Bidding on Online Auction Items To Gala

You can begin bidding in an online auction to generate interest and to expand the pool of bidders beyond attending guests, then move the bidding to the Gala event.  The high online bid becomes the opening offer for the gala bidding.   

Three steps must be taken to transfer bidding:

1.  Item(s) must be marked For Sale at both Gala and Online Auction

2.  Online Auction Setting: Transfer Bidding to Gala must be enabled.

3.  Select the Online Name format to display on Bid sheets and print bid sheets after online bidding closes.

Go to Catalog > Add or Edit Item

1.  Both Venues must be checked - either when New item is created, or by editing individual items.

2.  Set the closing time prior to the Gala (allow enough time to print bid sheets with the high online bid as opening bid).

 Go to Admin > Site Settings > Online Auction > General

 Go to Admin > Site Settings > Printing > Bid Sheets

1.  Use the  dropdown menu to select an option for identifying the high online bid on the bid sheets.

 Go to Catalog > Edit Item

1. Uncheck for Sale at Gala Auction and save the change.

2.  Make sure Enable Automatic Closeout is checked at Admin > Site Settings > Online Auction > General.  Online high bidder will be notified via email within 15 minutes.
