Signing up for an Online Auction Account
Bidders must create an online auction account in order to place online bids. If users already have a TICKET BUYER account, the user record will be updated to add the Online Auction role. All other users (even Admins and ticket holders) will create a new user record for online bidding.
To sign up for an online account:
1. Enter email
1a. If there is no existing account, new sign up form will display:
1b. If the email matches an existing account, user will be directed to login:
1. The software only searches for existing BUYER accounts - which are created during the Ticket buying process and/or creating a previous online auction account. If a match is found, the user is directed to login to the existing account, and the online auction role will be added (if necessary).
Email addresses associated user accounts of Ticket holders (guests that did not purchase their own tickets) and Team members (with Admin/Chair/Volunteer roles) will be directed to the Sign up page and new user records will be created with the Online Auction Role.
2. If ticket buyers created their password when they purchased their ticket, they can enter it here and proceed to set up their online handle. If the password set-up was disabled, or the ticket was entered internally, users will have to use the password reset function to create a password to gain access to their account.
3. Note that you can add your own text/instructions to the login form at Admin > Site Settings > Customize Your Site > General > Custom Login HTML.
Once logged in, ticket buyers must go to My Account to create their Online Handle:
2. Once account is created:
1. Users will land on the Welcome page.
2. They are logged in.
3. They can proceed to the Online Catalog to browse and bid.
