Strategic Use of Your Software

Your event date and place is set. You have a credit card for processing. Procurement is underway and the ticket prices have been set. Volunteers are already entering data but you still need to answer a question? How can I use my site to increase my sales and not confuse my guests?

What are my choices?

1. Online Ticket Sales
Address - [Base site address] /register
What's for Sale? Sponsorships, items that do not need a description such as raffles, drinks
How does it get there ? For Tickets - Admin > Ticket Sale > Ticket Type > Edit > Check on "Sell online ?"
For Items - Edit Item check on "Sell to guests during online registration?"
Donation ? Fixed amounts designated in Admin > Ticket Sale > Online or check on "Allow Guests to Specify Additional Amount?" to allow any amount
Key facts to know : 1. A Seat = a Bid Number = a Guest = an Order
2. Ticket buyer does not automatically become a guest unless their name is entered as a guest.
3. Items designated for sale get sold to individual guests but are paid for by the ticket buyer.
4. User defined fields applies to All unless designated as Buyers and Donors only

2. Donate Now
Address - [Base site address] /give
What's for Sale? Unticketed sponsorships, items that do not need a description such as raffles, drinks
How does it get there ? Edit Item screen check "Sell on the Donate Now page ?"
Donation ? Fixed amounts designated in Admin > Ticket Sale > Online or check on "Allow Guests to Specify Additional Amount?" to allow any amount
Key fact to know : User defined fields will show on payment screen

3. Online Auction
Address - [Base site address] /online_auction
What's for Sale? Silent, Signup, Sellable Item types that have Online Auction checked
How does it get there ? Edit Item screen choose Online Auction after "For sale at"
Donation ? Special Appeal page allows donor to choose amount
Key fact to know : Guest must register to bid or give

4. POS Point-of-Sale Only visible to logged on Users with the roles POS Operator or Admin
Address - [Base site address] /point_of_sale
What's for Sale? Sellable item type
How does it get there ? Edit Item screen choose Point-of-Sale after "For sale at"
Donation ? No
Key fact to know : Think of it as a cash register or a place to record jogathon results.
